The Brantford Bulldogs made one final move Wednesday before the OHL’s trade deadline.
With the deadline set for noon, Brantford acquired Niagara IceDogs forward Zakary Lavoie in exchange for three draft picks – a 2025 third rounder (Flint), 2026 third rounder (Brantford) and 2025 eighth rounder (Brantford).
“Zakary is a player we are very excited to bring to Brantford,” Bulldogs general manager Matt Turek said in a release.
“Zakary plays with great pace, has a goal scorers touch and brings the character and leadership we look for in a Bulldog.”
Savoie, five-foot-10 and 180 pounds, has 13 goals and eight assists as captain of the IceDogs this season. A former Mississauga Steelhead, Savoie has 65 goals and 57 assists for 122 points in 169 career OHL games.
He was drafted seventh overall by Mississauga in the 2020 OHL Priority Selection.
The 2004-born 19-year-old is a native of Ottawa.
