Concert Announcements: Kings of Leon headed to Edmonton, Ice Cube gets a second date

American rock band Kings Of Leon has announced an Edmonton stop in September on its North American tour.
Three-time Grammy winners, and eight-time nominees, the American rock band will headline Rogers Place Sept. 2 as part of a 26-city tour across the United States and Canada, starting Aug. 14.
The tour is supporting the band’s upcoming ninth full-length studio album, Can We Please Have Fun, scheduled to be released May 10.
Kings of Leon will be joined by American vocal duo, Phantogram. Other Canadian stops on the tour include Vancouver on Aug. 31, Calgary on Sept. 3, Winnipeg on Sep. 5 and Toronto on Oct. 1.
General ticket sales will begin March 1 at 10 a.m. at ticketmaster.com. Presale tickets go on sale next Thursday at 10 a.m.
Edmonton’s concert slate is filling up for 2024 with several highly anticipated shows scheduled for the summer and fall months, including two Metallica shows at Commonwealth Stadium Aug. 23 and 25, Pink at Commonwealth Stadium Aug. 31, Avril Lavigne at Rogers Place Sept. 16 and Bruce Springsteen at Rogers Place on Nov. 19.
Ice Cube makes it a double
Rapper, actor and filmmaker Ice Cube will be here Saturday playing to a sold-out crowd at The Venue in River Cree. With tickets in high demand, a second date has been added to his tour. Ice Cube will be circling back for a second show at The Venue April 30 and DJ Kav and Peter Jackson opening for him.
Tickets are $109 and on sale as of 10 a.m Friday at ticketmaster.ca.
